The Story Behind ChineseGoGo
ChineseGoGo was founded by Sampson Chen, a Peking University graduate who formerly served as a cultural study tour curator with Peking University's Institute for Cultural Industries.
His cultural study tour work focused on helping participants understand China through history, local traditions, cultural sites, music, visual arts, and the business of culture.
ChineseGoGo grew from a simple idea: Chinese learners should not only know what a word means. They should understand how it feels, when people actually use it, what cultural assumptions sit behind it, and how to remember it through real situations.
That is why ChineseGoGo brings together a context dictionary, a personal Wordbook, scene-based review, songs, poems, culture notes, structured courses, and human guidance.

ChineseGoGo is operated by Basteban LLC. This prototype stores your wordbook and challenge progress in your browser on this device. If you email us or request a free pack, we use your email only to reply, deliver paid services, and send ChineseGoGo learning materials. We do not sell personal information. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we do not store card details on this site.

Service terms
ChineseGoGo offers free dictionary lookup, optional Wordbook upgrade services, and optional 1:1 Chinese learning sessions. Dictionary entries are for learning support and may include basic open-dictionary results plus separately reviewed ChineseGoGo notes. We may update, correct, or remove content as the product improves.
Refund policy
GoGo Wordbook Plus / Wordbook Upgrade is a digital learning service. Once we begin preparing or delivering your study pack, review plan, or related materials, the payment is generally non-refundable. If we cannot deliver the service, if there is a duplicate payment, or if a technical issue prevents delivery, contact us and we may provide a refund or replacement service.
1:1 Real Chinese Learning Diagnosis sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours are generally non-refundable. If ChineseGoGo needs to cancel and cannot reschedule, we will refund the session payment.
Dictionary note: basic Chinese-English lookup uses open dictionary sources such as CC-CEDICT with attribution. ChineseGoGo usage notes, examples, scene packs, culture explanations, and study paths are written and reviewed separately for learners.
